David McCarty
Principal - 1985

Co-founder and principal of Chicago Design Network, David McCarty has worked extensively in all aspects of real estate planning and development. In addition to daily design and management duties within the firm, he is active in the International Code Council and on local zoning & planning boards.

Mr. McCarty has an integrated knowledge of commercial real estate development and leasing processes. He has experience working with developers, leasing brokers, commercial tenants and corporate facility officers. As a thought leader in the Work Place Revolution his designs and research have led the way in environments for technology enabled, mobile, knowledge workers. He participates regularly with the Future of Work Community, professionals dedicated to creating the work place of the future today. This cross-disciplinary group considers every aspect of where, why, how & when we work, with the goal of making our work, our world and our lives more in harmony.

He is a licensed architect with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana. Personal and civic activities include 10 years as commissioner and chairman of the Village of La Grange Design Review Commission and 10 years on the Planning Commission.
